Thanks Daddy!

Greg’s company holiday party made my little girl’s dream come true.  My girls have been skating as long as they have been walking.  For Grace it is a passion.  She is the happiest when she is on ice.
My girls have also grown up visiting Manhattan.  Every Christmas we board the train, to see the tree, to gaze at the windows, to browse through shops.  Every year we stare down at the rink and my girls ask “can we skate?”  Every year I tell them, not this year...maybe when you are a bit older.  On one hand the rink is small, it is crowded and it is very expensive.  But on the other hand, it is ROCKEFELLER CENTER.  It is iconic.  It has been on our list of things to do for about 8 years.
We were first in line.  Since most of the employees came sans family, they were more interested in eating than skating.  Not us.  We skip food for skating!  We shared the ice with about 10 people for the first 20 minutes.  Grace was glowing.  As brightly as the lights that lit the tree.  She glided and twirled, spun and jumped.  She smiled and giggled while repeating over and over that this was her dream come true.

Don't You Just Stay Home All Day?

It’s funny because last night at youth group some of the kids friends were discussing homeschooling and really truly felt that we stay home...
