Heat

This reminded me of my brother.
Puts the North East heat wave into perspective....

Origin unknown.  Saw this floating around Facebook.

I remember my brother telling us about the high temps when he was deployed to Iraq the first time. I could not even imagine what that must have been like for him- dealing with such high temperatures and all the stuff they need to carry all while trying to stay safe! It really puts it into perspective!

Thank you for posting this. I have re-posted it on my blog, too. Just last night when we stopped at a gas station, I noticed a lady next to us who had stickers on her car saying that she was the proud parent of someone in the army. I went over and told her that I noticed her stickers and that I just wanted to thank her.

I have a USMC sticker on my car and I get asked all the time. Being a family member of a member of the armed services makes us all connected since we all share the hardships that are caused when there is a missing place at the Sunday dinner table and constant worry. I am sure she appreciated your thanks! It is so easy to complain. I find myself complaining when the heat soars over 90 degrees but this made me stop and rethink my discomfort.

I can't even imagine...Iraq, Afghanistan, Africa. Our service men and women are placed in conditions that are unimaginable to me and add the worry and fear they must experience on top of the heat..... I am glad both our brothers are home and safe!

Amen. Love this Jess and I will think twice the next time I complain about the heat.

Don't You Just Stay Home All Day?

It’s funny because last night at youth group some of the kids friends were discussing homeschooling and really truly felt that we stay home...
